foursquare douchebaggery.

foursquare douchebaggery.

So this douchebag has been checking in EVERY DAY to Chicago "hot spots" -- Millennium Park, Kuma's, numerous music venues, cool cupcake spots -- in order to promote his lame ass website filled with sub-par photography and simpleminded fashions. This is the first example of actual foursquare spamming I've seen, and it's unexpected since I always kind of thought it was enough of a niche thing to keep folks at least somewhat on the honor system.

I've sent him repeated emails and alerted the local foursquare team but no one seems willing to do anything about it. Any suggestions?

  2. If 4sq isn't willing to do anything I guess the only thing to do is for real actual users of 4sq to stop using it. Gowalla anyone?

  3. sucks that foursquare allows you to check in anywhere..even if you're not really nearby. they should change the software so you have to be half a block away at least. strange the foursquare team is unresponsive.

  4. They tried tightening up the GPS requirements but it ended up being so buggy they relaxed it again.

  5. lame. like i've mention in the past... most good things don't need much advertisement, and clearly his pictures suck (i can see the catchlight on his glasses) so much he needs to advertise the shit out of himself. don't worry, as long as nobody hires him... eventually he'll have to give it up. maybe i should put hin in his place. what's his username?

  6. FYI, the "local" FourSqaure group (I'm assuming you mean @4SqChicago) isn't affiliated with the actual FourSquare folks. That dude's a poser in his own right.

We had this happen with our ChiMag event this week. Some girl who has 87 mayorships and is a Wrigleyville frequenter checked into the event twice before it even occured.
