Too hot to consider different perspective on 2 hot topics?

One-sided outrage needs counterpoints so let's not call these hot takes, let's call them controversy deflators, or at least brief attempts to show how perspectives change as you view situations from slightly different angles than the current outrage-o-meter seems capable of doing.

• Anyone shocked or horrified by the way Amazon white collar employees are treated or behave towards each other has either never worked in marketing or PR, or they are surprised someone actually has it worse than they do. What should shock and horrify you is how Amazon warehouse workers are treated, because they often don't have other job options like those higher up the corporate ladder do.
• That Tribune op ed piece that suggested Chicago could benefit from a Katrina style disaster* was wrongheaded, but the editors that allowed it to get through are ultimately to blame and they knew exactly what they were doing. And they didn't mind throwing that writer under the bus to get the buzz they were looking for.
