Lois v Koenig, oh the intrigue!

Julian Koenig and George Lois
George Lois and Julian Koenig were creative partners for a long time and both can be credited with some of the most influential work in advertising. Many suspect Don Draper of being based on Lois though it'd be easier to argue he's a composite of the two men output-wise, but not character-wise.

It appears Lois, who is certainly the more charismatic of the two, has a penchant for taking the credit where the credit is not his. I've been a victim of people doing this to me, and I think it's one of the most vile things one creative can do to another, so if Lois is truly guilty of even half of what he's accused of fabrication, that tarnishes quite of bit of his reputation in my eyes. And that totally bums me out.

Sadly, Koenig passed away earlier this year, so even if Lois ever comes clean he won't get the satisfaction of hearing it. However you can hear a slightly updated broadcast of a This American Life story (reported by Koenig's daughter and TAL producer Sarah Koenig) below and make your own call.
