Do yourself a favor and download Paul's series of Mondo Salvo mixes. I held off drawing attention to these since Paul has had a tendency to adopt projects and then drop them -- which is most frustrating since he a talented writer and a gifted music critic -- but he seems to have been drawn back into the sweet pleasures of making mixtapes. Well, the closest thing we really have to mixtapes any more.Anyway, his Mondo Salvo mixes started off as a monthly thing but now the guy, thankfully, just can't seem to stop himself from churning them out with merely weeks or days between mixes. His latest one is particularly juicy.
If you want a taste of some really great undiscovered music, along with one or two mainstream things, you'll want to subscribe to his feed.
Also, I love his visual aesthetic when it comes to the mix covers. Dude is so old school he KNOWS that the image and the mix are sometimes equally important.
